Thank you for posting in the forum! I tried opening the forum in Chrome on some computers and had no issue so I suspect that is specific to your computer.

Does it make a difference if you clear web browser cache? Also, does it help if you restart your computer?

I restarted the computer several times with the problems still occurring. I
hardly every use Chrome but use Firefox most of the time - clearing cache
and cookies on both made no difference, the problem still occurs.

Any other suggestions?
It does seem to be restricted to my PC - it works ok on other PCs on my
local network.

I've looked at my AV software (Kaspersky) but can't find anything obvious
and the problem still exists. Very strange that two different browsers
exhibit the problem but not the third. IF I find an answer I'll update this
post.
Thanks for the feedback.

While trying to find a solution I completely uninstalled Firefox and then
re-installed it.

When I tried to access the forum again Firefox reported "The owner of
forums.autodesk.com has configured their web site improperly. To protect
your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this web
site." It then also reported "forums.autodesk.com uses an invalid security
certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate
is unknown. The server might not be sending the appropriate intermediate
certificates. An additional root certificate may need to be imported. Error
code: SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER". Looking at the certificate it reports its
issued to common name as "knowledge.autodesk.com" but issued by common name
as "Kaspersky Anti-Virus Protection Root Certificate" which looks like a
Kaspersky screw-up somewhere!

Hope you can find the thread.

Progess...

I found the thread "Fusion 360 formatting is screwed up" and, although the proposed solution didn't work quite as describe, I found something that does - I think.

In Kaspesky Internet Security 2018 Network under Network settings, Encrypted connections scanning, select Do not scan encrypted connection. Close the browser then re-open the website... and it is back to normal.

There is a further twist as far as I can see. If after doing this the original Scan encrypted connections upon request from protection components is selected it appeared to still be working but browsing elsewhere on the website could re-introduce the problem.

So far this seems to have sidestepped the problem but somewhere there would seem to be an incompatibility between Kaspersky and the forum site as this doesn't occur elsewhere.

Sorry - messages crossed.

I've used the second option (Magage Exclusions) to whitelist forums.autodesk.com as the most focused hole in my protection and it works, but it doesn't explain why I need it one one PC but not the one on the next desk or why it is only the Autodesk site that causes problems.

Still, thanks for all the help.
