Fusion 360 Performance is Horrible

On anything that starts to get remotely complicated the program comes to stand still. I've seen a number of form posts about this. I have done every single one of the optimizations. It would help the community drastically if Autodesk did something about this. The perf in this application needs to be drastically improved. Please please please improve the perf in this thing. I've had situations where it takes 15 minutes to mirror a single part. For now I think I'm stepping away from fusion 360 until something is done.

Hi @metalman123456123,

I'm not sure what posts your are talking about, without any concrete examples we can't blanket report "make it faster". If you have files and models we can examine we can report specific issues related to performance.

There are many factors that impact performance and i'd love to take a look at your models to see if i get the same results.

sadly I cant dump a diagnostic read out for a number of nda Reasons. My request was to fix/ Improve performance. For an app that can so many things it would be nice for it not to take 2-15 minutes to mirror a part. Every single operation get progressively slower as the assembly builds. Until something gets updated or fixed using this app for anything remotely complicated just doesn't make sense. Thanks for the help. And yes please make it faster.

I would love to offer you a solution. In most cases dealing with performance there in fact is a solution. But without concrete examples and models for us to test, reproduce and log and fix, we can't know what within Fusion to make faster.

The links supplied to the forums and reddit highlight issues with specific models. While they may share some similarity, in order to improve Fusion its far better for us to diagnose each issue as such:

How your models relate to Fusion
Your specific workflow
Your computer/hardware/drivers

Sadly this doesnt help us but the moving the assets to solid works has helped us alot. So we'll be heading down that path seems like a good space for us thanks again

Referencing a community you are not contributing to and are not participating in and then not providing any specifics is pretty useless. No actionable items can be derived from that.

Ive spent alot of money on autodesk over the years. Sooo ya i contribute. Why dont we focus on making the software better rather then crapping on people who have issues. I know its a great way to avoid fixing the issue but regardless of if you like my messaging or not. The perf in the software needs to be drastically improved. have a good day

Let me first clarify that I am not an Autodesk employee. As an Autodesk Expert Elite I am a customer just like you.

How much money you spent is pretty irrelevant to the topic at hand . You might have contributed to AD's bottom line but you have not contributed to the community on this forum.

I did not "crap on you" or other people. I suggested that you provide data to substantiate your claims. The AD folks I have contact with are very eager to get data from the field to investigate.

I completely agree with your comments and you are correct about the complexity of the model, the performance degrades exponentially with the increase in complexity. As I type I am waiting for Fusion to activate a component, I am 15 minutes into the process, gives me lots of time to catch up on the Lars videos or compliment you on your post. I have submitted my designs a couple of times and each time it answer comes back "your design is too complicated". I have given up trying to resolve this, the Fusion folks know they have a problem and one day there will be an update that says "you know that performance issue you have been having, we fixed it". That will be a good day, in the meantime YouTub......gota go the Component just opened up!
