Hi MDA

Apologies for not getting back to you earlier, but my post is so old now I've forgotten what the problem was. It looks like I never got it resolved. Funny thing is the only thing I do remember is that I used to use joints a lot, and this did slow things down. The only joint I use now is as built occasionally. Wish I could be more helpful.

Hi

I have one large assembly where the align tool no longer works. I get the error "No alignment suggested by geometry could be found" It seems to be the case for any component in the assembly. There does not appear to be a problem with other models. Can someone provide a solution to this?

Regards

Hello, I'm having this same issue within one of my assemblies. I'm wondering if this was ever solved? I'm using Fusion 360 in a professional capacity so when things like this occur it costs me time and money. I've searched extensively for a solution to this problem, which has been reported many, many times in the forum, but no actual solutions have been posted. How is this issue just ignored? For me, the align tool is absolutely necessary because I design large systems that utilize hundreds and hundreds of standardized components. I'm able to share my assembly privately with a member of the Autodesk team.

Don't come onto forums offering zero solution comments like this mate. I 100% guarantee that if you were doing the job I do, you wouldn't be using joints so freely. I'm a professional, with a degree in product design and qualifications in 3D parametric modelling, not a hobbyist or student, and although I don't know everything, I certainly know the job I do and the best workflows to do that job with Fusion. Joints are a no go for me and I assume many others for lots of reasons. People are here to seek help for what, in my experience is an anomalous behaviour in Fusion. Your level 11 mentor status means nothing when you are trying to put an umbrella solution over a problem where, for some of us, it is irrelevant anyway.

Hello everyone!

I encountered the same problem. I was working with a model with most of it's parts imported from my library. At a point I noticed that align stopped working. After doing the mandatory read of the help forums and not finding any advice, I took the only logical (at least for me) procedure: delete all joints. It took some time to find the all the joints in the model, but in the end the job was finished. One of the last joints in the model, a rigid group, had a red exclamation mark adjanced. After I deleted that rigid group, the align tool was working fine again.

I don't know if my solution works for everyone, but I think that if a joint breaks due to improper use might generate this error.
