It is now working on some models but not the one in particular I would like to export. The export to STL from A360 also fails to generate an export link. It’s a very basic body I am struggling to understand what is different with it vs. Others that are working

I have now tried saving a body to STL file on 4 seperate workstations, none of them are able to do it. We have also tried bodies from 3 different projects, all with the same issue. Has anyone else been experiencing this since the recent update? The following is the error that pops up.

Error: Autodesk Translation Services failed to translate the current document to stl file!
Error: STL Translator failed to export data

I see people have had this issue in the past but nowhere have I seen a fix that would explain why this would be happening across so many workstations (Mac & PC ) and projects.

Hi @Anonymous,

Can you try again now? I tested this earlier today and had this issue, but it seems cleared up now.

Thanks,

I have just restarted the program and tried again, still the same issue. Oddly enough sometimes it shows the error messages I quoted before, other times it appears to export the file but when you check the file destination nothing has been created. This seems to be the more common occurrence, any ideas?

Hi @Anonymous,

Can you try changing the destination folder of the save to something else? Perhaps the documents folder as an example. See if that fails.

Also, visit A360 and try exporting the STL from here. Do you receive the email to download the STL?

Thanks,

Hi @Anonymous,

Can you provide a public link so that I can download the file? To do this, in Fusion 360 go to the file menu, select, Share, Share Public Link and ensure the option to download is toggled on.

Thanks,

Thanks for your assistance James, in the end I had an unfinished operation on the body which was preventing the export of this particular part . Initially it was a global problem but In the end the problem with this particular model was user error.
