Hi Karina,

Thank you so much for your time and guidance. I just wanted to ask you if you know any possible way I could keep the black background when I animate my project. It returned to the default background colour(white)when I went to the animation section.

Hello, I was wondering how to animate my project with a black background. I tried to change the environment to dark sky but it dimmed the colours.

Hey there @Anonymous,

It looks like the answer you're looking for is in this article here at step 2:

http://help.autodesk.com/view/fusion360/ENU/?guid=GUID-0A159555-E362-4150-AE4F-E9E1308FEF40

I also did a quick screencast to show how this functionality works. Your background can be either "environment" or "solid color". Select solid color and change it to the desired color.

Let me know if that solves your problem, or if you need any other information!

Hi @3500741,

Great question!

There is not exactly a way to change the background in the animation environment. But there is another solution!

I found this video that shows how to make a video rendering from the render environment. This is a great way to get high quality animations of your design. A few notes about this video:

- If you haven't made a motion link before, you might check out this video which shows you how to make a motion link from joints. If you haven't used joints before, check this out.

- The UI has changed a bit so if you are going to make your rendering into a video, you need to select "video", let it render, and then you will have the option to render as a video. I made a screencast so you can see the process from after you have your motion study and your scene settings set up. (I skipped the rendering times, yours might take a little longer after hitting the "render" button).

- The render I did was a bit slow, it might take some playing with the motion study to get the look you want. You can always go and edit it in a video editor as well if necessary.

If any of this doesn't make sense, please feel free to upload your design and I can make a more detailed screencast or explanation for you.

Hi. One crazy workaround that I tried is to make a large rectangle block right behind my design. I colored the block in the design module using Appearance. Then in automation, I moved everything else, but kept that block unaffected so it just acted as a background color.

Great idea, this works perfectly for my application, just set the large rectangle to powercoated black and looks awesome.

Thanks.
