3d pocket clearing flat area detection PROBLEM

I have notice since the update that 3d pocket clearing flat area detection is messing up big time since update. So if I have a .375 pocket and I am doing a .25" step down it should do like 2 passes. One at .25" and one at .375". It does like 6 passes. What I think is happening is that its detecting the flats of the whole model and making a step at each height. Even if I contain one flat pocket it still does all of them. turn the flat area detection off and it doesn't do it. This seems to have started since this update. Please help!
