components joined to sketch disjoin on sketch modification

I have components (rigid) joined to a sketch to create split bodies to create a frame made of square tube.

When I change the sketch dimensions, the joins don't follow and my split bodies fail.

See attached screen shots where I change the length from 72" to 60" and the components move away from the sketch.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

That is indeed rather curious as I've downloaded that same file (or so I assume) through the link in the other thread.

Sorry, I have had real trouble with public links from Fusion. Often my customers can not access them. That has been the case with this particular design. It works, then doesn't, then does, then doesn't. I have no idea why or when it will or will not work. Today has been particularly bad, so I attempted multiple times to un-share and re-share it so my customer could view it. So far no luck at all for the entire day.....

Based on the photos in the first post, I did not see a changed sketch as you mention.

That sketch is not fully defined, and is it the one you edited.

Based on the design you posted:

Nothing wrong with Fusion 360 - it does what it should.

The behavior is caused by your workflow to create the mitres (construction planes intersect and split components 8-11).

60" (the design you posted)

Then I changed the value to 40". No intersection between planes and component9/component11, so Fusion cannot perform the split operation.

And this is the result for 80"

You created the joints between the components and the assembly "Frame 1 - Lower" - so the position of component9 and component11 is not changed when component8 and component10 are changed.

Thank you for the time you took to respond and letting me know what I did wrong.

I'm confused as to what I should have done to make it correct.

Do I need to go back in my timeline and do the joints differently?

Do I need to create different types of joints or join different areas?

As I see it, the construction planes move when the size (length) is changed. And in my mind, if the planes move and that is what does the cutting (splitting), the I don't understand why Fusion wouldn't cut the tube(s) where the plane intersects them.

That's one of the ways to change the design. I'm sure there's more.

Just as an example: I rolled back the timeline and connected the four components.

Look at the second image of my first post. I rolled back the timeline. This shows the situation before you applied the split command. The planes do not intersect the tubes. No intersect, no split.
