Hi @rengfx ,

Thank you for posting in the forum! I may be missing something but I couldn't find any reasons why Fusion calculates machining time that way, and I think this is a bug.

I have escalated this to the development team for further investigation and will post more information as soon as I hear back. (CAM-13274)

I apologize for the inconvenience.

CAM Machining time bug with dwell

Anytime I add a dwell to a cycle, the resulting calculated machining time is drastically increased, however when code is actually posted it's properly handled by the control (HAAS post custom by me, but NO changes to anything related to dwell)

It appears like the 'machining time' script calculation is using whatever value is entered into a dwell operation and not maintaining the unit. For the first example I included above, you can clearly see adding a value to the Dwell field on any drill cycle somehow is rendered out in MINUTES instead of SECONDS. Thus my one hole operation adding a 1 s dwell my machine time balloons to 1:23 from :23 without the dwell, and if I modify it to 2 s in the Dwell field again on the drill cycle, it will further balloon up to 2:23

In the second example, I'm using an peck drill cycle and a similar but different thing occurs, this time without any dwell specified I'm getting a calculated :44 cycle time, but adding a dwell of 1 s (the s should stand for seconds in a time field no?) it goes to 10:44 on TWO HOLES lol

So I'm not sure whats going on here, other than it is incorrect anytime there is an added dwell on the drill cycles I've been using. Once posted, the appropriate P(duration in milliseconds) is properly posted and my machine / control handle it fine, would just really like to accurately be able to quote large volume drilling jobs and either have to do a manual spreadsheet to account for these discrepancies or fly by the seat of my pants on something the software should be able to handle (better)

Not hugely critical, but this problem amplifies across multiple holes and cascades machine time calculations into the ground. Any chance this can be cleaned up to accurately reflect its function and be calculated properly? specifying 1 SECOND dwell including decimal point that fusion will drop after i inputmachine time increased 1:00 for a requested :01 second dwellno dwell the cycle time for this single hole is :23with 1 s specified dwell, time is now 10:44with no dwell i have :44 cycle time for two holesthe S should stand for seconds here no?

Having the same problem! I have been noticing this for a long time, but never realized that dwelling was the reason.

Drilling "Machining time" estimation is increased significantly with "dwell before retract" and defientely does not reflect the truth. There is a bug there for sure...

Any news from the development team??

Thanks!
