I'll send a diagnostic next week if the problem persists.

It is quite unfortunate that files can't be open in previous fusion versions. It is impossible to keep up since fusion is updated almost every week. Meaning that I would have to ask for the lab administrator to update all machines constantly.

I'll test working offline and seeing if it makes a difference.

Hi,

I have been teaching Fusion 360 in a digital fabrication class at a university level and have been running into some problems. The university supplies computers and these have Fusion installed, so students only have to log in to access their work, this is great but the problem is that we can't update Fusion without jumping though administration hoops. This causes problems because every time a student works from home on a different machine they can't open their work at school because the file was created in a newer version of the program. I as well, cannot share files with them. Is there a way to solve this?

A second problem we have run into is that the network runs really slow and saving a file becomes problematic, importing a part into a current design ("Import Into Current Design") impossible.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Hi @sebmorales ,

Thank you for posting in the forum! It sounds like Lab version of Fusion 360 is installed at the school, and that requires manual installation of updates. Unfortunately there is not a workaround for it and an update of the program should be installed when one is available.

As for the second issue, would you mind attaching the diagnostic log files that may contain some clues to why the issue is occurring?

One more thing, does it make a difference if you work in offline mode?
