Also note all these white dots are not a good sign as the endpoints of the lines are not constrained. With everything contained fully and the red pin on the sketch showing it's fully constrained you'll get more predictable results and better performance. See attached file.

Bug: Coincidence get lost while moving lines

Hi,

having to adapt an older design to a new assembly, I decided to transform it, so it could folow an aligning line projected later from another design.

The aligning line in sketch 1 "Längsachse" is projected to sketch 2 "Oberplatte hor", the vertical middle line of sketch 2 is set colinear with the purple line. When I move the aligning line to the right, everything is OK. When I move i to the left, some (of many) coincidence constraints stop working - follow the mouse movement. The short vertical lines were created togehter with other lines by offset from the outer surrounding lines.

Is this a bug or my fault (breaking some "unwritten rules")?

Thanks...

Kristian

Because the sketch is not full constrained you get unpredictable results when you drag the line.

You can see these arcs move unprdiably and cause other constraints to fail. With the sketch fully constrained it seems to work perfectly, also recalculates the new position faster. See attached file.

Thank you very much, Mark! I knew about this arcs, but never thought, that they could make other constraints to fail

This may be a solution for my actual main problem too: crash down while dimensioning or constraining a sketch with projections from an insert-derived sketch. The destination sketch still contains some blue elements...

Thank you once more, now I found your second post - I´m stunned! I always thought, constraining is necessary only for "functional elements", not construction elements. Well, I ´ll do my best to get my designs to the right shape 😉

Have a nice day...
