(Mac) Custom title block images disappear after the first page

Hi Everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue where I create a drawing from a custom template that has my company / DIY logo in the title block. Everything appears as it should on the first page of the drawing, but on subsequent pages, the logo image disappears. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I've attached an example PDF to show what I mean. The logo is missing from the second page as soon as I create it inside of the Fusion360 software, it is not simply being left off during PDF creation.

How did you attach the image? It doesn't look like it's a part of the title block - try double clicking the title block and adding it in the "edit title block" window.

Thanks for pointing that out! I'm not sure how I originally put my logo into the template, but you are correct that it was only on the first page of the template... not in the title block itself. After creating a new template and including the image within the title block, it now remains visible as new pages are added!

I will say the image scaling is a little funny... I measured within Fusion360 and saw the space in the title block was 5.5" x 1.5". So I made a logo in Inkscape that exported on a 5.5" x 1.5" page. When I imported that image (or any image for that matter) into my title block, it initially came out much smaller than I expected. I had to anchor one corner of the image into the matching corner of the title block image space, then manually drag/stretch the other corner until it anchored on to the opposite edge. I did not use any scaling features during the image import... as it should have matched the space I had at a 1:1 ratio.

So... yes! My problem was solved (yay user error). Thank you so much!

That's good to hear!

That's interesting about the logo sizing - did you lose quality when you scaled it up? I wonder if Fusion automatically scales it to the size it thinks appropriate for an inserted image (just in case it's way too large or something) and requires that you scale up. I'll keep an eye out for this in the future.

Now that you mention it, I'm not sure what kind of scaling is going on in the background with Fusion360. When I got the 5.5" x 1.5" box size from the native measurement tools in F360, I sized the image containing my logo to the same dimensions. When imported, it came in smaller than expected... so I tried again, this time doubling the image size to 11" x 3"... and it STILL came in at the small size.

I've attached the two logo files I made in case you wanted to try it out. The "_2" file was made at 11" x 3" with 192 dpi scaling in Inkscape, where the original file was made at 5.5" x 1.5" with the standard 96 dpi scaling in Inkscape. None of that seemed to translate into the Fusion360 definition of inch measurements!

Overall I think the image quality is there in the final logo, but it really doesn't make sense to play all these scaling games... hopefully that gets addressed at some point.

I played around with it, and I think this is the intended behavior. Fusion is automatically scaling the image to fit in the default block reserved for logos.

Personally, I think this works pretty well. I can't count how many times I have included a logo or an image into something (without wanting to edit it) only to have it be way too large and be an annoying hassle. Having it come in already scaled to size (or at least close to it) is pretty handy. I don't mind it being off by a bit as this is for creating a template, where theoretically you only have to do it once.

I could see there being a change where the import size relates to the size of the block you've created, but I have a feeling that would be hard to detect.

I would consider this to be a feature request. If you would like, you could create a post on the IdeaStation to get feedback from the community.
