Why don't new bodies go into the active component?

I thought I was careful this time, and sure enough the history proves me right.

Fusion 360 has been crashing a lot recently, and I'm pretty sure it crashed after one of these early sketches. When I came back, the UI told me that "Base" was the active component, and the subsequent bodies/sketches all appeared under Base while I was working. When I came back this morning, nope, they're all at the top-level and I cannot move them.

I'm pretty sure it's because of the crash.
