Has anyone come up with a solution to this? As of today, any drawing I open breaks nearly all dimensions.

It can be a drawing that I haven't updated the part, it can be a part I have made changes to, it doesn't seem to matter, but every drawing breaks the dimensions.

Greetings,
I have a situation involving a simple part and drawing:
The part is a simple shaft with two threads on both ends. The thing is that if I change some number on a revolve or a chamfer, almost all the dimensions lose their reference in the drawing and get the yellow warning sign after the drawing update.
It is very annoying. What to do, any advice please?

Dean

My drawings are still corrupted and scrambled beyond use for the most part! Lost reference to dim and the layouts of most if not all the drawings have rendered them virtually useless!

I also have encountered this problem as mentioned by Dean Dekovic. In the part shown, I changed the .97 to .93 (circled in red) after creating a detail dwg where when I updated the dwg, the part outline disappeared and all dimension references are lost.

To try to recreate the issue I created a simple block with a hole where after creating a dwg I changed some dimensions of 1st, the block and 2nd, the hole. I expected to see the same problem but did not.

I suspect that the problem with the CAM PLATE dwg is because the dimension I changed (circled in red) is the datum of other features and geometry.

A bigger problem arises when I try to back out changes where, not only was I not able to recover the original dwg, the dwg seems to be importing sketch geometry of the part and overlaying the part model in the same space (last two images).

CAM PLATE BEFORECAM PLATE AFTERCAM PLATE PART w SKETCHES ONCAM PLATE DWG w SKETCHES ON

Does your model have any chamfers (or radii)? I just found out that if I suppress chamfers in the model - then do a detailed dwg, the problem of association seems to not be a problem...

After dimensioning, the chamfers can be unsuppressed seemingly without causing issues with reassociation. This is a puzzle, no?

Attached you can find two screenshots where the problem is visible. I figured out that the problem started when I created the revolve cut (thread and undercut) using the same sketch as the first revolve. That way when I change the radius from R3 to R2 mm, the dimension lose the reference. When I remodeled the part using two sketches for each revolve, the problem went away.

hope it helps

Actually i am facing a similar issue but not because of changes in part. I simply changed the position of a view, and the auxilliary views got messed up. Unfortunately i cannot upload images here. To explain, some egdes have became invisible; Crossmarks on holes are mispositioned; centerline is misplaced; dimensions that are using the crossmarks and centerline are now misrepresenting the actual value. Please, I request help.

Hi

I am having the same issue and found this thread of 3 years ago. Although this thread shows as having a solution, when you read it, there are still many people having the same issue. The whole concept of parametric modelling is that the model is intelligent and all the drawings and machine tool paths that are derived from a model should automatically update.

The failure of F360 to update drawing dimensions is a fundamental flaw. I have had similar issues with projections where the change of 1mm in one dimension breaks the whole model and then you have to fix everything manually. I wish Autodesk would focus on getting the basics working properly instead of adding bells and whistles. I still cannot define different product models and assign them different parametric values. You cannot get more basic than that.

Well i also get this problem and it is a PINA, im losing precious time re-associating dimensions when something really small has been updated. All my dims lose their association. This is not acceptable, this never happened to me when using inventor for 12 years.

Has anyone come up with a solution to this? As of today, any drawing I open breaks nearly all dimensions.

It can be a drawing that I haven't updated the part, it can be a part I have made changes to, it doesn't seem to matter, but every drawing breaks the dimensions.

No, it's not fixed, it always does it with me. I've reported it multiple
times and submitted my files and they always say they can't repeat the
issue their end. It's pathetic, they need to get this fixed its basically
unusable software and they should be ashamed.

Autodesk team always say they can't see this issue but so many of us are getting it and it's unacceptable service. It just seems like you can't be bothered to do anything about it, are we all using a different software to u guys or what!? Make a decently complex model with multiple parts (not just a cube) and put it in a drawing, dimension it then make a modification to the model and update the drawing. Almost every dimension loses its reference pretty much every time!

When are they going to revamp the drawings module? Coming from a solidworks background, it is proving extremely difficult to transition, almost hostile for use. The feeling while making compromises around every corner is not pleasant.
