topic Question re: Fusion 360 Mac App Store Transition in Fusion Support Forum

To get ready for this transition I followed the directions in

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Fusion-360-MAS-Transition.html (For all users)

In Step 4, I deleted com.autodesk.mas.fusion360. However, com.autodesk.mas did not exist. Is this a problem?

I signed in to my autodesk account and downloaded Fusion 360 and installed it. I now am running the latest version, and everything appears ok, but noticed that there is a com.autodesk.mas.fusion360 dated 04/21/2019 in ~/library/containers. Is this expected?

I assumed that the ... .mas. ... files were only for Mac App Store installs?

Please advise. Thanks.

Hi @robert.c.harding ,

Yep the MAS entry is for Mac App Store, but if you downloaded from your Autodesk Account and installed, you should be all set for the MAS transition.

Let me know if you need help otherwise or run into any issues.

Thanks,

Thanks. The thing I don’t understand is why I got a “NEW” .mas. file when I installed from Autodesk. Should I delete this new .mas. file? How will I know if I should automatically receive updates in the future? Is there somewhere on the Autodesk site to see when an update is issued and the version number?

Thanks,

Bob

Hi @robert.c.harding ,

Sorry, just saw the notification for your response.

I'm not sure either. From what I know about how Fusion installs on Mac - if you are not using MAS, there should be no entries for MAS and Autodesk (with respect to Fusion being downloaded from our .com installer). I would delete this file.

If you are on our .com installer, you will automatically receive updates as they come in. Once released you can Subscribe to our What's New Blog.
