Simulation Error - Load on axle via bearings

Hello,

I'm trying to simulate load on an axle as it's applied to the bearings on the axle. I only care about the performance of the axle itself so I've created solid shapes to act as the bearings and bushing holding the axle. The outer doughnuts are the bushings holding the axle in place. The inner doughnuts are applying the load to the axle. In the simulation I've applied the load to the inner doughnuts and fixed constrained the outer doughnuts. I want to see what load will damage the axle surface.

But when I try to run the simulation, it fails. Maybe part of the problem is that the pre-check doesn't pass due to "fully unconstrained" inner doughnuts. I'm not sure how to fix that though, as they must be allowed to move in case the load would cause the axle to bend or mishaps in some way. I can't fix the inner doughnuts in place.

Surely there is something I don't understand here.

You can see the file here: https://a360.co/2VHIxSz.

Thanks for any help

Hi @chris7XW6D ,

I think the issue has to do with the threaded end of the rod. There is pretty complex geometry with many small faces that the solver has to mesh. If you go to the Simplify environment and clean that up to just be a hollow rod (which in essence should not have much effect on the outcome of your simulation) - it will solve. My model: https://a360.co/2VJuPyS

Thanks,
