Render artifacts

Hello,

i have issues with rendering in Fusion. All my renders have artifacts on the edges of objects (see Image).

I wonder what the cause is. It happens on Cloud and Local. Using the highes render settings settings. Resolution 3500 x 2500 and TIFF as a format.

I know Fusion is not a render Flagship but I have seen other renderings poping out of fusion without these artifacts. Anyone an Idea how what might be the problem?

Hi,

I think the magic word is anti aliasing.
Maybe there is something you can adjust on your graphics card.

Antialiasing can be one problem, but there aren't any settings that control this in there render environment.

Check your render set-up and make sure that you either have Depth of Field disabled or lower the setting for it.

Yes there is no option for antialiasing for the render just for the displaying inside of fusion.

Also just tried another model of someone else and there are no artifacts with the same scene and render setup. (See image)

We need to see your model. It's easy enough to share ...

I am utterly bewildered by how often we have to ask this basic question. It makes me loose my hope in the future of mankind.

Well ever thought about the fact that some models/design can't be shared with the public at this point?

Anyway, I modeled a different scene where the same issue happens.

Locks better, still you see the issue when you zoom in. But thats totally fine.

If you zoom out and render the artifacts get worse. I could understand if tis is something which is just solvable with higher resolution but fusions maximum render resolution is 4000px by 4000px.

BTW: I'm also running a close up render to confirm whether the artifacts reduce.

Absolutely. In that case if you need help, as you've already done you created a design to reproduce the issue.

I think you are confusing normal pixilation with artifacts. There is nothing wrong with that image on my screen, if zooming in far enough (to an absurd level i might add) there is and ought to be pixilation where the colors blend. If you are seeing them on the tiff i uploaded, please highlight where you see them.

here the result:

Left: Not close up a lot of artifacts -> 1 min to render

Right: close up no artifacts -> 45 min to render

It is really a bummer that there is no control over the outcome of the renderings or it just depends on how close you zoom into the model...

What do you mean by 'not close'?

If you are rending a goodly distance away and then zooming in to show artifacts that does not make sense. Are they visible at 100% zoom?

Have you checked your depth of field setting ?

The holes in the plastic piece look unsharp and out of focus.

I don't see this at all when I render. It looks crisp at any distance.

@TrippyLighting DOF is turned off. But I also was wondering why that happens.

1) "not close" means not zoomed close to the model. I'm not talking about the render.

2) The so called "absurd level" of zoom was used to illustrate that the artefacts are visible all the time also in your render (See image). Yes this is zoomed and I also said your render looks fine at 100%.

3) To the question "are they visible at 100%... Yes they are thats why I started this thread. To confirm see the second image. It is the example of my first post at 100% Zoom in the highest settings. And the second scene with a darker material same issue at 100%.

My assumption is that it might be an issue with the sample rate for ambient occlusion...

I don't think the the render engine uses Ambient Occlusion.

What environment are you using for lighting ?
