I gave up on the buggy slow program. I swear Fusion is just the Beta of a real Autodesk program in the works.

Put the stl in SolidWorks, loaded instantly, no lag, did everything I needed to in 30 min. No goofy remeshing or quad mesh or what not, just a plain simple stl right into solidworks, can draw right on it, cut it, extrude through it, etc.

Spent all week fighting Fusion, just need to quit trying to use it.

I am trying to bring a large stl into Fusion to edit it. (i need to extrude some shapes, etc)
I cant simply convert an stl to a Brep because it limits the triangles to ~10K, and my model is ~1.2M (the 1.2M is reduced to the point that any further reduction makes the model noticeably low poly)
So, I used Instant Meshes to convert the model to a quad mesh. And then I import the mesh into fusion, turn off design history, and click on convert quad mesh to T-Spline
It chuggs along for ~30 min using 20GB of RAM and then shoots up to 99% usage and throws an Error: bad allocation
I thought it was imply running out of ram, so I bought another 16GB to have a total of 32GB and it still has the issue
How do I fix this, or is there a better way to do this? (no I cannot reduce the triangle count)
Thanks

Windows 10, i7 6700K, 32GB 3000MHz DDR4, rx 480 8GB, SSD's
tion
