topic dxf export in Fusion Support Forum

Hello everyone.

I have problems exporting dxf from fusion 360.

When exporting via the menu the dxf-file will be with wrong measurements (something related to inch) when I open it in edrawings (see attached screenshots).

Someone posted the solution to set units to inch and export a dxf by right click on a sketch. This works well. The units are in mm and measurements correctly when I import the file in edrawings. But then I have polylines instead of circles / splines.

I would prefer the right-click on sketch to export dxf in my workflow. So would be nice if there was a possibility to avoid polylines.

If not, I am also happy if someone has a solution for the inch/mm-problem.

Many thanks

Peter

The problem is with EDrawings. If you open the DXF with QCad or AutoCAD they will read the units correctly. Puzzled why changing units affect arcs and splines though. I just tested and arcs and spline always exported correctly no matter what units I used.

Also try exporting using the Save As DXF option when you right click a sketch in the browser. Export from the file menu will always save in CM so your 30mm will be saved as 3cm and EDrawings is reading it as 3 inches because it's not reading the units info in the file.
