Hi

I have a problem regarding the automatic update. any time there's an update the program freezes and i should force close it. Or when i start the program i should wait for eternity to load. I had many issues regarding this problem as i took my laptop to other offices to show the product and the program wont open.

please add a feature to disable auto update or ask when install the update.

My colleague used to work with solidworks and i asked him to migrate to fusion but with this issues his asking me to get back to solidworks. please address this issue as soon as possible.

thank you very much

@Anonymous, please familiarize yourself with Fusion 360 - this does not apply to Fusion at all.

@Anonymous - Fusion will auto download and PRE-install the update but it will not force you to reboot to fully install. The update is a background process and should not be freezing Fusion 360 at all. There will not be any features to stop the updates and we'd be happy to look at why its doing that during before or after an update.

Changing networks can cause issues if Fusion cannot detect a network connection.

I am using Mac.

since last update yesterday it freezes constantly also after restart and even booting computer.

I am very busy now and very frustrated with unusable tool.

I did not ask for any updates.

I did not want any updates.

I absolutely do not want to update any SW at critical moment like this.

Just not acceptable.

And over all, please focus to stability. "

That is pretty much what is happening.

I notized though today that other model seems to be "fine" The problem is related to the model I was working yesterday when it was auto updating. Before that model was "fine".

Also noted the side tool area stays on top of all windows

It seems to be related to this construction part. It has red pin. I do not know what it means and did not put it there??

When ever I klick it the MacBook Pro 15" 2018 fans kick full speed and it freezes I will leave it now cooking my computer over night 😞 hoping it gets done what it wants to do, or then it is just crashed, who knows.

Anyway I would need to get this model back working ASAP. This started yesterday immediately after restarting fusion after latest update.

I really really really do not want any update that addresses anything else than bugs. Put now some focus making the fusion reliable. no need for new UI (does not even look better, what is the point) or any new features before it is a reliable tool, and even then the user should be able to decide if and when he updates to new version. What a toy it now is!

Very extremely very very frustrated.

If the file was opened in an already updated Fusion 360, you'll need to update that computer to open the file. Files opened in an updated version are migrated to the new version of Fusion.

I was hoping it would have still worked correctly on old version, as it does not work correctly on the new, just freezes when trying to open the group that has the red pin (picture above)

It is the same isssue with two different computers. The model I was working yesterday when Fusion updated, is now somehow broken.

How do I recover it?

Saving the file to disk and reopening it, it took over night before it opened, but I could finally save it as Step file.
No Autodesk does not consider it okay and no it does not mean the cloud is unsafe. We have no idea what your design looks like nor have we had a chance to try to open it on our end. If you would like to share a the broken version of that design with us we'd be happy to take a look at it.
