Thanks for your help/advice 🙂 yeah ive always preferred the steel frame cr's. I rebuild this bike at college about 5 years ago and its been used twice ( its my brothers ). We went a bit overboard with it and now its one of those bikes that theres too much invested/customised to make it actually worthwhile selling (honestly about £3000) lol. I always hated the orange tank + shoddy looking airbox so ive bought a new 96 tank + shrouds + decals for it and will also be 3d printing a tank adapter. i can attach a few photos if you'd like to see it.

Sorry i got derailed lol ... i will have a look at the file you have attatched and try running it through the slicer software but i imagine it will be much better 🙂

Thanks again , Dave

Hi , i have been using fusion since about january designing simple things for my 3D printer. Im trying to push my designs to be a bit more complex each time and my latest project is to try to replicate a rubber air boot for my 1991 Honda CR250 ( the part between the carb and airbox). I want to print this in red or white TPU and have done test prints where the loft pictured is the only problem area as its too thin. I was wondering how i might be able to thicken this if possible , any help would be greatly appreciated as this is practically the only thing left to do on the bike. Thanks , Dave.

EDIT , I TRIED ATTATCHING THE FUSION FILE BUT ITS NOT LETTING ME I AM GETTING THE FOLLOWING ERROR

'

The attachment's cr start v8.f3z content type (application/octet-stream) does not match its file extension and has been removed.'

Cool project Dave! I had one of those 91 CR 250s back in the 90s. great bikes. I am always on the lookout for a 94-96.

I took a look at your file and my first suggestion to you would be to build this thing out as a solid body, and then Shell it when you have the outside how you want it. Your file appears to contain a lot of small pieces you are trying to put together to make this shape. I did a quick edit(note i also broke the link to your derived file so it wouldn't be an f3z file and need cloud translation for me to export). I used your shapes, lofted between them as a solid and then created a shell.

Also note some tips for success. Don't loft between a shape with sharp corners to one without. You want to try and keep the same number of edges and general shape for the best result.

Good luck with that project!
