Sheet Metal: Flat Pattern Automatically updates

Hello,

Sorry if this is a dupe question/comment. I searched briefly and did not find a thread with the same question.

So the issue I'm having is that I will create a flat pattern from a sheet metal component, and later I will make cuts to the component (specifically mitering edges). I will then get the yellow exclamation mark on my flat pattern, showing that it is not up to date... which is what I want... however, when I open the flat pattern from there, it will automatically update the flat pattern to the current design. I was wondering if there is a way to make it not automatically update the flat pattern. The reason being, is that the miters have to be cut manually after the bends are made.

This isn't the end of the world, I can just suppress features that I don't want in the flat pattern before I re-enter the flat pattern, however, it is a bit inconvenient.
