Using a sketch to cut 360 along an axis - like doing a "Revolve" but maintaining both parts?

I hope I explained it well enough ^^

Im basically trying to do a revolve cut along the line I created to split the body into to pieces and color them accordingly. Though I was not able to do that with just a line.. I then created a closed sketch with I then could select but I can't get it lo work like I wish.

Basically like this, but maintaining the cut part.

How do I do this..?

Sounds like a you want to use the "Split Body" command. This will split the body and retain both sides for you to use or "Remove". You can make your sketch parametrically rotate around the center is needed.

Thank you soooo much!!

I didn't add the file thinking that I just missed a basic feature somehow.

I had never ever used "Surfaces" before - as I never had the need to.

Worked great and a nice addition for future works 😄

I have not gotten this to work yet as I don't know how to make the Split-Body function turn.

But I will give google a search. Its always good to have alternative solutions.

The other day it took me over 6 hours to make one simple thing. I tried at least a docent different ways of which none worked - giving me all different kind of errors - the last try and only idea I had left eventually worked.

Oh wow... that's pretty interesting. I don't yet have a use-case for such a cut, but whenever the time comes, probably sooner than expected - I will remember know. Thank you 😄
