Replacement of existing project

I have a project and I have saved it with a name.

I didn't get any prompt to replace an existing file, when I save another file in the same location with the same name.

Fusion 360 will allow you to have two, or more, files with the same name in the same folder. I wish this was not true also but that is the way it is.

It will be difficult to find the actual project sometimes right @jhackney1972 .

@ryan.bales don't we have a solution for this at all?

This is intentional. Designs have a unique identifier that is not their name. This prevents name clashes from causing design problems, which happens in some systems which rely only on name text for design resolution. The responsibility for not creating name clashes really falls on you, to be honest.
