So there are two distinct things i want to split apart. One is an improvement and the other is likely not correct.

Copy to clipboard SHOULD only be one line and I agree that the lines should be split for alternates - but even if i agree its still an improvement.

You can resize docked windows. But its not bottom left or right:

Now you can't resize vertically but that isn't kept on re-docking anyway and it reverts to scrolling.

I am posting this as a problem/bug, and not a feature request- because this should not be considered a feature. It should be a standard practice for all F360 dialog boxes. I have brought this to the attention of F360 team before with input box size/char width for dimensioning sketches- and the problem still remains.

This is a bad UI practice to prevent users from not being able to see information, and also restricting dialog box width. As you can see below, even at 3 decimal places, I cannot see the digits in full, and I have to 'copy to clipboard' and paste in notepad/textedit to see the actual numbers if I want to plug them into my calculator to do some math elsewhere.

Please put the 'Secondary Units' information on a new line or let the user resize the box, or both. Don't make the user have to take extra steps to see information that is generated as the sole purpose of the "Inspect" tool: to view information easily and quickly.

I agree its sort of annoying but why not resize the measure/inspect dialog? You can grab the lower right corner to resize it.

Honestly i do think the second line is a feature request since it resizes (although i think we need an un-docked resize icon). I'm not saying i like how it is - or that it should be that way.

The problem with adding a second line on alternate units is that you are doubling the values and increasing the scroll on complex selections.

For me it's a tossup on which is worse at that point - a wider dialog or scrolling. I'd rather not scroll and can handle a 1/4" wider dialog.

he said, she said.

you'd rather lose 1/4" of screen space (as you put it).

I would rather use the collapsible arrows as they are intended (otherwise, what are they for?) & save the screen space, and yet still be able to read the numbers under the "Results" section, which is usually the only thing I am concerned about anyway... and those are always at the top of the box.

Even widening the inspection dialog by 1/4" doesn't fix the generous line-spacing, so you still have to scroll anyway.

I'm resurrecting this again, because this is still an annoying issue, and I will say this again from previous posts I've made on other features:

LET THE USER DECIDE.

This is so annoying. If I have the box pinned to the side of the program window, you CANNOT resize the box using the bottom left corner or bottom right corner. You have to un-pin it from the window, resize it, and pin it back. And then it stays that size.

Furthermore, trying to copy a dimension with an "Alternate Dimension" selected, results in a clipboard text that is unusable for pasting into a dimensional input box for use elsewhere in the program (adding two dimensions by pressing + and paste in a current dimension input box, as an example).

I propose a simple fix:

Primary Dimensions on its own line. Click on it to copy it to clipboard.

Alternate Dimensions on its own line. Click on it to copy it to clipboard.

To copy both, click on the Dimension name (Length, Radius, Diameter, etc.).

Please just let the user decide how to display the units they need to inspect and maintain and be aware of and allow copying to be easier.

This is quite ridiculous that you are not dedicating more attention to UI features like this that are quite bothersome. They are features that are already implemented, the just need to be adjusted to be more usable. F360 has been lacking in this regard lately.

Thanks for showing how to resize.

Those two tiny lines are barely visible on a 1080p laptop monitor; I hope they are changed someday to something that is used more widely as a resize icon. Along with separate lines and proper click to copy function- or at least we can be given the option to customize it how we like instead.
