Rigid Group Suppress behavior.

I created a Rigid Group associated with a Revolute Joint. I moved a component that was part of the group and the entire group moved. It took moment to understand what had happened and why everything was moving when I wanted only that one component to move. Once realized that the component I wished to move was associated with the Rigid Group what had happened became clear.

I then Suppressed the Rigid Group & moved the component. I assumed that when the component would register its new relative position with the Rigid Group. When I Unsuppressed the Rigid Group the component returned to its previous location. Is this the expected behavior for a Rigid Group? If so, is there a simple method to alter the relative positions of components within a Rigid Group that does not involve its deletion & recreation?

Yes, this is exactly as expected. You can edit the Rigid Group: Remove the component you want to be in a different position, roll back before the Rigid Group (this is important!), move it, Capture Position, then re-edit the Group and add it back in. That's the only way I know to do this.

Would sure be nice if you could suppress a rigid group then reposition an item and unsuppress with the rigid group updating to the new positions or add an update group option that did that.

I understand the requirement. What is really needed is a better "edit rigid group" that allows you to update positions as well as add/remove components. Something similar exists with "edit capture position". That said, there is a way (albeit ugly) to make this happen using rollback and capture position:
