Variable opacity in Design workspace not working for plastics?

I use variable opacity a lot for designing boxes. I place an item inside the needed box and shift the box opacity to 60% to shell out the inside and make the needed holes for connectors and the like. I usually use a ABS plastic material and appearance, but lately the opacity setting doesn't work for any plastic material. If I change to a metal, fx aluminium, opacity works like its supposed to.

The 2 attached screen shots show the same body, with the same opacity setting of 60%, but with different appearance of either aluminium and nylon.

Any ideas?

This is a legacy issue in Fusion. As those appearances have "Translucency" enabled, we didn't handle it in opacity settings. If you turn off the "Translucency" options in "Material editor", you will see the opacity setting working for these types of materials.

Or you can use the plastic->Opaque appearances instead.

Hey schack.lindemann,

We just released a new product update and should have fixed this legacy issue. Now opacity changes should also affect translucent materials.
