Im trying to find out what I have in my timeline that would prevent me from alligning components using the Allign command. If I insert the components early in the timeline they allign without any problem. When I try to allign later in the timeline I get...

Error: No alignment suggested by geometry could be found

Possibly related to this is that every joint I create later in the timeline creates itself with a warning...

Warning: Compute Failed some positions cannot be resolved due to joint conflicts.
Though it creates the joint, and keeps things together, its just not happy with something ive done.

I can share the design in PM only

Thanks...Henry

Any resource, or tips to figure this one out would be appreciated.

Really like you said, someone needs to see it. Its way too abstract in text form.

Can you share it with me? I'd be happy to take a look.

Can you attach your assembly where you are seeing this issue? If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section of a forum post to attach it.

Is there a solution to this? I have the same problem where all align operations fail and all new joints generate a warning. Is there an email address I can send the project file to? There paid for sub-components that I do not want publicly available.

In an assembly with components, the Align function (perhaps followed by a position capture feature) is not a proper method for permanently positioning parts. That's what joints are for!
In a mechanical assembly such as the one in your screen capture, I would not expect to see a position caputure feature in the timeline.

There are dozens of position captures and joints in this design. In addition to align failures and joint warnings, it will no longer capture position. Upon moving a component, if capture position box is check, that fails. If the component is moved without checking that box, the capture position buttons are absent from the menu bar.

Walked it back to a bulk merge of subcomponents to a single parent that had a warning. Deleted the offending warning, then moved that single component back in to the parent as one operation. Then it magically worked <shrug>
