Hi @Steven_Gao

I can't send you the full design file since it's confidential. But I've found a super easy and simple way to reproduce this bug. From my experience this is 100% reproducible:

Create a new design

Create a new component in the design (by default it will be grounded to parent)

In a new component create a simple cylinder solid

Add any cosmetic thread to this cylinder wall (Create / Thread)

Unground component from the parent

Now when you toggle a visibility of the component half of the cosmetic thread will remain floating in the 3D viewport. This faulty geometry can't be selected or hidden in any way. The only way to get rid of this floating thread glitch it is to save the file, close it and re-open.

If you try to delete the internal component that contains a problematic thread feature the Fusion will instantly crash

If the component with the thread feature is an external component, Fusion will not crash after deleting component but floating half-threads will remain visible in the 3D viewport . Fusion will crash if you then try to save the empty file with floating threads.

Hi

Since previous update I'm experiencing an issue with displaying parts with cosmetic threads that can't be hidden in any way. Below is a screenshot of the issue:

This is a simple design file with one external part that contains some fasteners with cosmetic threads.

Issues:

When I hide the external part in the Browser, half of every cosmetic thread remain visible in the 3D viewport and can't be hidden in any way.

Rebuilding the model does not help

When I delete the external part from the design those threads still remain floating in the viewport. Rebuilding the model does not help. What I end up with, is the empty design file with no features and parts - only a dozen of broken threads floating around.

When I try to save this empty design file with floating threads Fusion instantly crashes. I've uploaded a crash report with that (774828530).

Update:

I reopened the design. Now i can hide the external part normally. The external part is "grounded to parent" by default. However - when I unground the external part from parent the glitch comes back and it persists.

I saved the design with ungrounded parts. After reopening the floating thread glitch is gone.

Hello, sorry for this problem. Can you help to share the design file to us for further investigation? We opened an internal ticket(FUS-143222) for this problem but we haven't the reproducible steps and dataset to reproduce it. If possible, you can send the design file to my email(mingwei.gao(at)autodesk.com) and I'll share it to the development team, then we'll try to fix it.

Thank you so much for the detailed steps! I tried your steps but it seems I cannot reproduce this problem on my machine. Please refer to the attached video. Is any difference for your workflow? Are you using Windows or Mac OS?

Hi @Steven_Gao

Looks like you've reproduced all the steps correctly. I'm suprised that it didn't trigger the bug. On my machine it works every time, crashing the Fusion with 100% accurancy. I attach the video where I reproduce the bug. I also sent a crash report with the number you can see on the video. Maybe this could be helpful.

<video-js data-video-id="6359334018112" data-account="6057940548001" data-player="default" data-embed="default" class="vjs-fluid" controls="" data-application-id="" style="width: 100%; height: 100%;"></video-js>
(view in My Videos)

This might be somehow related to my hardware configuration:

OS: Windows 11 Pro version 10.0.22631

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X

GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 - 6GB (driver version 528.49)

If this is related to my configuration the GPU driver seems to be the most probable cause. I'll try to update it soon and I'll report if anything has changed.
