topic PROBLEM: Scaling partially with fixed proportions in Fusion Support Forum

So I've been trying to scale something partially using parameters in fusion 360, but I cannot seem to get it right. This with the purpose to scale the model to size whereafter it will be easy to adjust to needs and print in 3D. Every time I want to scale either the proportions grow larger or smaller than it was initially or the model acts really weird as a cause of the tangent handles of the splines.

In the pictures it will become clear that i want the brim to be 10 mm at all times but when scaled (height is in proportion to the length) this does not happen. If I use parameters that are equal for all points i.e. all as a portion of the total lengt/ width. the band on the side wil widen since the outer points will move further then the inner points. How can this be fixed? Just a regular offset will not work since the constraint will fade when certain coincidents are added.

Regards

Just a straight Offset - should not break. For that part of the question you are on the right track.

You have no anchor to the Origin. When sketches are fully constrained, you will not see this behaviour. I would suggest drawing tangent arcs, to replace the spline, and looks like using symmetry will save half of the work.

Might help...
