Hi,
I struggle at applying a draft to the sharpest corner of a triangle. All side faces of that triangle have draft, but the sharpest corner has a draft in the wrong direction, which will make the piece hard or impossible to remove when making a mold for further casting.

I have tried all face/plane selection combinations, in vain.
Thanks very much in advance for your help!

Hi and thanks for taking some time to consider my post.

What I am trying to achieve is to apply a draft onto the sharpest edge of the triangular shape of my design.

I am thankfull for your attempt at solving my problem, but your cast is showing how to draft faces of an object.

I have done all the drafts I needed, but now I find myself with just and edge "drafted" in the wrong direction.

Thanks very much for your attempt, I appreciate a lot.

Cheers!

Thanks very much for coming back at me., it's great.

As you may have guessed, I am new at 3D drawing. Happy you've been able to spot the problem from just loking at the timeline.

I'm trying to upload the file as suggested. Please bear with me. Hope that you'll be able to open it.

So my reference plane is seen from the top of the drawing's index cube (right top corner, I don't know the proper name for it). Then, I would like the sharpest corner of the shape to be brought back at an 2.5º degree angle from 90º (perpendicular to the starting plane).

I guess you've understood from the screenshot, but I am unsure I express myself clearly enough.

Thank you very very much for you time and support. greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Adam

Hey Günther,

Thanks for showing a different solution.

All 3 side faces of my triangular shape have draft, in opposite direction and different angle values. I think this is why I have obtained the sharpest corner of it in the unwanted direction, and I am unable to correct it. I need to modify only that edge, not the rest of the design, since the other draft are correct. I just wish we could simply select an edge of the drawing and vary its angle. I'm new at it, and find it very difficult. Might have done the design in the wrong order, and I don't know how to make proper use of the timeline feature.

Thanks very much again for you attempt to help.

Cheers,

Adam

The problem is that you have drafts on top of drafts, I deleted some unnecessary operations and I think the result is what you wanted. I have attached the file.

Hi CADWHISPERER,

Thanks so much for fixing my mistakes.

I must learn to understand, decypher and use the timeline.

It now looks much shorter than on the file I sent you.

How long did it take you to "clean up" the sequence? Was it easy?

Do you have an easy fix for a chamfer that goes the wrong direction (another design)?

How can I thank you for your help?

I appreciate a lot your kind assistance.

Best Regards and another huge THANK YOU

Adam

It took me about 10 minutes or so to fix the model. I just rolled the timeline back to see what was happening and started deleting duplicate operations. I saw holes in the sides that were later deleted so instead I deleted the creation of the holes rather that deleting them after the fact.
