On the general assembly sheet, I created all views required using section and detail view, auto-generated the BOM table and correctly positioned the numbered balloons. After having finished this task, and having arranged the sheet required, I inserted a secondary 'base view' of the referenced assembly file to outline the overall dimensions of the fully assembled device. When inserting a second 'base view', the numbered balloons vanish.
