@Anonymous are you running Fusion 360 on an Insider Preview build of Windows 10's version 2004 release?

If so, do you have build 19541, or something older?

That's a bingo.

You'll need to get build 19541 from the Fast Ring. While Insider Preview builds are not supported, we recently became aware of a change in the upcoming 2004 release that prevented Fusion from starting, and Microsoft has since released a fix as of January 8th.

Okay, thanks. I will change the preview program to Fastring. I hope the update comes soon, and doesn't break so many other things. 🙂 I will report here as soon as the update is on.

Thanks a lot already

As far as my testing has revealed, 19541 should be enough.

Once you update, you might take this time to opt out of the next Preview release. It's strongly recommended to use in-development builds on a test device that you won't mind losing access to should an update break functionality.

Yeah, that won't work. I already have the "Slow" preview on my main computer, thanks to my son... and of course he was smart enough to delete the rollback data.

I only have the fastring and hope, or a complete new setup with the last stable release? do i understand that right?

I will give the 19541 a changse.

have backed up everything important on external disks anyway

Yeah, rollback on WIP builds is... not reliable. But all hope is not lost. Unfortunately 19541 hasn't been pushed to the Slow Ring, so Fast Ring remains the only option other than reinstalling.

Once you're there, however, we can ensure you don't get future preview builds once 2004 releases. The instructions at this third party site echo what I would recommend you try:

https://www.nextofwindows.com/how-to-opt-out-windows-insider-preview-on-windows-10

The second image down is what you're most likely to see; a little toggle switch near the bottom of WIP preferences to Opt out and Stop Getting Preview Builds. I would not recommend pausing updates as suggested there.

Hi All,

I have the following problem. Since today I can't start Fusion 360. When I open it, nothing happens.
Windows 10 update was run automatically (upto Windows 10 20H2, packet KB4562830)
In the task manager are the processes "Autodesk Fusion 360" with 13 MB memory and 0% cpu and "FusionLaucher.exe" with 0.7 MB memory and 0% cpu.

I have already tried the following:
- Reinstalling
- cleanup with the Cleanup tool from Autodesk
- Start as administrator
- Virus software switched off
- and more other... but Fusion is not running yet.

I'm using SolidWorks, too. Situation after Win10 update was the same, but after a reinstall it works.
(After the update, in generally my whole system's speed has halved. My system is a desktop workstation.
i5-9600K, Quadro P2000, 32 Gb RAM, 512 SSD..., the best from all)

I'm alone with this problem? Do you know any solution? How could I run the Fusion after win10 update?

Regards,

Szabolcs
