The curve at the joint is probably not tangent so the only way to remove it is to make it tangent.

Hi, im trying to remove the seam that's left after a combine body's operation, following a mirror operation to form the body. The seam is preventing me from extruding from object, as my sketch to be extruded is over both faces adjacent to the seam in question, and im unable to select both faces to extrude from. I have tried deleting one face to no prevail, i get errors. also tried deleting the line, also to no prevail. im sure there is an easy solution to this, im just unsure how to work around the issue at hand. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

with out seeing the shape, not sure what the final answer will be, but when I have this issue sometimes I can fix it, by switching to surface mode and delete both faces and recreate in 1 go with a patch.

The surface in question is convex curved, and im working from a top down view, the seam runs along the center of the radius of the curve, with the shape being "somewhat organic" in nature and the radius changes. I'm not sharing screenshots, due to the confidential nature of the project. Tried you suggestion of delete in surface mode, then replace in the patch environment, it worked, but i loose the organic shape, and the patch replaces it with an almost flat face.
