yes you can, you must do the solid again on sheet metal, then unfold it, align it with the sketch and fold it again.

Hello,

is it possible to wrap a mesh / obj file around a body in Fusion?

For example a mesh that has been created in Autodesk Mudbox.

I tried several things to wrap or project sketches of a Voronoi pattern to a model (cylinder or more complex shape) but none of the solutions let me extrude the projected sketch.

Thanks for any help!

Hello

I've looked into the model and found that this flat mesh body can't be to be warped to that solid. If it would be something like can be sketch traceable, I could have make that wrap but, in this case not possible.

Sorry

Thanks for looking into it! How about a Voronoi sketch that should be wrapped around that solid to be able to extrude the Voronoi pattern?

Please see attached

The 2nd example you provided is a simple voronoi 2d sketch. It can't be wrapped with the following solid.

So, basically spoken, there's no way to extrude a Voronoi pattern on the object (example 2) and no way to have a pattern around the object (example 1)?

It's not always possible to unfold the model. Especially when there's no straight shape to reference the unfold.

The unfold / fold workaround only works for simple shapes like a cylinder

the same way i already told you, it works, you can also sketch the things on the unfolded sheet metal and extrude it to its original form as you did with solid. there is no way without remaking it.
