No problem, however, I'm not actually sure how to attach the Fusion file as they are in the cloud? The box to edit the dimension is grayed out, but the reference says "reference selected" for both as I did choose the edges as references.

Hello All,

I just updated to the latest version of Fusion 360. I noticed some oddities in editing holes that were not there previously. When I edit a hole feature that has references to a face or edge, it does not let me edit the offset distance. Please see attached screencast.

Additionally, I noticed that when changing between thread types for 'threaded' holes, the standard head diameter and height on the counterbore no longer update automatically. They update for 'clearance' holes, but not for threaded.

Seems like these need to be fixed..

In you video, you are trying to edit a hole that has not be located by "reference" dimensions. To do this, you have to select the References for two directions or one Reference to reference to a rounded feature such as a fillet. Take a look at the Screencast for the process of adding Reference dimensions to two edges.

About the counterbores not updating for a thread hole, this is not normal. Clearance dimensions only apply when you are trying to drop a screw in place. The type of hole says it all "Clearance" holes.

Hello John,

Unless I am missing something, the video I sent does show that the hole is dimensioned/referenced to both edges. However, it still does not let me edit it upon going back. If you watch the video I sent, at the 20 second mark you can see the hole is referenced to both edges (or so it says in the dialogue box).

Got it, thank you. I attached the file. If you activate "acrylic front" and then edit the hole, you will find that it has references selected but doesn't let you change the dimension. It also does not visibly show the references on the part when editing the hole which is odd.

The reason you have to select the blue dot is because you placed this hole by picking a specific surface. If you place a sketch point, dimension it, and then place holes on the sketch point(s), it will be a lot more intuitive. Maybe a few more clicks but....

Hmmm, yes that does get it to work, thanks for taking the time to look at that. I am used to referencing holes to major geometry, as most I assumed are, so hopefully this might be something they look to switch. Thanks again. Oddly enough, if you look at the hole on "acrylic right", it was referenced to edges in the same manner but when I edit that hole it does let me change the dimensions without clicking the blue dot.

The hole on the Front component Extents is set to "TO" where the one in the Right component Extents is set to "Distance". That is the difference. If you change the Front component to Distance.

By the way, you really should use Screencast to make any videos you post to the forum. They are clear and attach directly. You can download Autodesk Screencast, if you do not have it from here.

It should have been automatically installed with Fusion 360, check your program directory.
