Hi @charouz.jan

Thank you for adding that info - I see in the logs that a doc named "SPUHR dope card holder v7" took ~2 seconds to open. Then one named "DOPE card holder v6" took ~62 seconds to open. I can see the call that is particularly slow, so I'm a little closer to narrowing it down.

For everyone in this thread @ThingWizard @johnAMKDR @charouz.jan - can you provide more detail about the behavior?

When did you transfer the projects?

When did the slowness start?

Are certain designs always slow, or is it just the first time you open them in the new hub?

Can you try the workflow and attach logs as well (with the names of the problem designs)

After collecting logs, try clearing the local cache and/or a clean uninstall/reinstall of Fusion.

In the meantime, I'll try and reproduce the behavior in my setup.

Yesterday, I was forced move my files to team hubs. After the migration, all my old projects are basically unusable and keep freezing up fusion. Any new project i create is fine. Can anyone help?

thanks

I was seeing similar freezing up when I moved everything into the 'hub'. All I can say is that it is better now, but there are still plenty of times when the responsiveness is disappointing.

Are you still seeing slowness after migrating to a team hub? There is no way to move back to "personal" type hub as they are being retired.

Can you try opening old designs, and then collect your log files? That may give an indication as what is slowing it down. When you share the logs, please also provide the name of the design you are trying to open.

The behaviour is really strange. One of the old files that i tried to open before now worked like normal, but when i tried to open another old files, again extreme slowdown. Also, if i try to "add to offline cache" fusion immediately crashed and shuts down. I submitted this error, report id is: 815885815

The name of the file that was extremely slow is: "DOPE card holder"

Hi Karina,

I transferred the projects right about the time fusion basically forced me to do it. I tried to set up a new project and i got an error that i dont have the necessary permissions and have to migrate to team hubs. i think this was roughly 3 weeks ago.

Any new file I create now (after the migration) is fine and work well with normal speed.

Any old file that i open is extremely slow to open, extremely slow to do any action, even a basic action like rotating the object or opening the list of bodies, basically the entire program bogs down to crawling speed until i close that old file. It happening to all old files, even ones I open more than once. The only difference with the "SPUHR dope card holder v7" file which was also old was that prior to opening it in fusion, i opened it in the fusion 360 online viewer. Finally, any old file i press add to local cache on, fusion immediately crashes.

I tried to replicate the opening in fusion 360 online with a different file, but it was still slow.

By the way, im on a M2 macbook air if that makes any difference.

Thanks @charouz.jan ,

The applogs don't report much about performance behavior in-canvas, but we could have you try this tool - "Help - Support and diagnostics - Report Performance issue". I think once you turn that on, you can try the workflow again and then share the report number with us.

The best info I'm getting from the applogs is the Open time. I can see generally that things are slow because there's not a lot going on (lots of passive checks, not a lot of modeling activity), but that's about it. I didn't see the same behavior in a simple test, if you are able to share a sample design that might help me try and reproduce.

Cheers,

Karina,

I can't recall the finer details. I made the move to the new hub maybe two weeks before it was to be done for me (scary thought so I tried it myself).

For about two weeks, my older files opened very slowly, if at all. Many times, I would just kill Fusion and try again. I have an impression that once opened the file would be better or even normal the next time.

I have just opened several old files that I probably did not try during the troubled time. They open, not as quickly as I'd expect if there was local storage, but not as bad as I've seen.

I don't see an option for "add to local cache", perhaps that is the same as "add to offline cache".

I tried that a couple of times with no problems; switched to "offline" mode and opened the file again. Maybe it was faster--I didn't time it carefully.

BUT, when I switched back to "online" mode, I got:

The dashboard says

the history goes back 3 hours. I wonder if this effect is related to our problems.

The current incident is not related. I'm assisting with that right now, it is specifically file - Import (STEP import for example) that is going very slow.

My current guess about our performance issue after transfer, is that one of our services is writing new metadata to the transferred files (which I believe is initiated on Open sometimes) and that is taking a while. That would mainly explain the Open slowness - processes like that shouldn't impact the behavior in the modeling window, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was. The performance report will show more.

Hi Karina,

i did as requested, the Report ID is 104995.
I did try my trick with opening the file in the fusion 360 online viewer again and it did help. Now the file again works like normal.
To me, it seems like the old files created prior to the migration are not fully migrated stored in a location from which downloading them is extremely slow. Opening the file in the team hub on autodesk360 (https://gmail5036873.autodesk360.com/g/all_projects) seems to cache the file in some new location which make the file work in fusion as well.
Also, for all the old files, i cannot even see thumbnails in the file browser and during opening one of the old files, there is a blue rotating circle over the file that is being opened. Interestingly, the blue rotating circle is still present on the file: "fishing trolley rear stand" that i started opening almost an hour ago.

Hi @charouz.jan

Thank you - the performance team is looking into the performance report you sent in, so we'll see what they say. In the meantime, if you can share a sample design (you can DM me if you'd prefer not to share it in the forum) I can try and upload it to my single user storage hub and go through the workflow.

Cheers,

Hi!

I'm currently running a performance data gathering for an example old model that is showing the slowdowns. It even affect simple things like moving the viewport around,
I get slowdowns in the app interface, the browser background goes black for several seconds and nothing happens. I have uploaded the report

Like previous posters have said this seems to affect all old models and started happening after the featured hub migration. Whatever that was.

It unfortunately makes working on previous material impossible

Update: I manually deleted the cache file in C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Web Services\Fusion360 and it seems to have somewhat alleviated the problem for me. I have tested to open a couple of old models now and they seem to work without issues, however this does not seem to work for all as some still have the problem

Hi @ThingWizard

Thanks for adding info. Interesting that deleting the webservices folder helped - that folder is an old login cache that shouldn't be used anymore. The active login cache is under a folder called "idservices".

Please share log files, and indicate the names of the designs that are problematic. I can use the names to see the Open process in the logs and in our services.

Have you tried clearing the cache and/or reinstalling Fusion? If it gives you the option, select "clear local design data". That will remove the local versions of the file so that when you open Fusion next, it will pull a new version from cloud.

Do you use other Autodesk products? ADSK shares login information across products, maybe that is a reason why the old login info is there?

Cheers,

The behavior is quite peculiar. One of the older files I attempted to access earlier now functioned normally, but when I attempted to open another older file, there was once more a significant lag. Additionally, Fusion crashes and shuts down right away if I attempt to "add to offline cache". ucharts

Did reinstalling Fusion and/or clearing cache help with the behavior? One of my internal colleagues also recommended this - specifically because based on the logs it seems like the team hub might be mistakenly pulling info from the personal hub in some cases. So, clearing certain local data should fix that.

Bear in mind that I have not experienced the crippling slowdowns since about 2 weeks after moving the files.

I cleared the cache and did not notice a difference. I reinstalled (with remote support, it was way complex, hunting all around \AppData and deleting various things). I did find some files that I'm quite sure I have not opened since the problem, and they were OK. They are very small and might not be a good test, but things seem OK, as they have for a while.

Hi Karina,

so far it looks like somehow, the issue fixed itself with no internaction from my side. if i run into the problem again, i will try the clean reinstall. thank you again for your help!
