Drawing Dimension problem

When dimensioning a component that has references to features in the second component, the dimensions are WAY off. It seems like the referenced feature is grabbing an datum or some random feature for the dimension. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong??

I am using the ASME template in IN, the component I am dimensions is the "Side" the referenced center .75" diameter circle in from the "Framework"

Please attach the MODEL that you are creating the drawing from. If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

I do not see any issues. I question the "cross" in the middle of the the round shaft, did you sketch this in the drawing? If so, that may be your issue.

Thx, I did draw in the center mark in a Drawing Sketch. However, if you try to dimension to the center of the 3/4" circle, it will report 3.09". Why would that be? Using the center mark will get me going but dimensioning it to them center, which is what is normal, does not work as expected.

I get the same dimensional value if I dimension to a Center Mark or the the Center of the arc and circle. Your statement about placing dimensions to the center and not to a center mark as being normal is not true. Check any good drafting text and you will find you should always place center marks and center lines BEFORE placing dimensions.

Thx for looking at this for me. I think you misunderstand, I AM dimensioning from what fusion calls the center of the circle. I had to create the center marks in a Drawing Sketch to make it work at all. What is more curious is I created a new drawing from the same components and it does NOT exhibit the same behavior! I will leave it there

Thank you for sharing this bug! I have managed to reproduce and will submit this to our system.

The issue definitely comes about when you dimension a sketch instead of the component itself and it appears Fusion is measuring a 3D distance instead, still this should not be the behaviour.

I can't even figure out where the 3.09" comes from in your case. I'm getting 2.145" or 1.832" when I measure in 3D which doesn't match my drawing's dimension of 2.06". The sketch plane in Drawings must depend on a few factors but I'll let the development teams dig into this.

Edit after doing some more digging:

Sketches in their current form are currently always 1:1 so if you're base view scale is 2:1, then the value will be double the expected value. I think this must be what is happening in your case! We are working on making improvements to sketches which includes a fix to this.
