Can't make drawing with folded and unfolded version of sheet metal

Hi,

I have simple Sheet Metal (just two folds) model and need create drawing where I can show folded and unfolded version of model. On some video I can see that it can be done with "Reference" field when adding new parent in drawing, but I have this field inactive (grey).

I do not see where you have created a Flat Pattern in the part?

File>Export and then Attach your *.f3d file here.

Hi @Anonymous,

The good news is, yes, you can definitely create a folded and flat pattern drawing view in the same sheet.

To do this, you need to create a flat pattern within your design first. However, it looks like you're missing a few tools from the Sheet Metal toolbar; one of which is the Create Flat Pattern tool. I'm not exactly sure why this tool is missing but here's a couple of things to try --

Check the Create panel's dropdown menu -- to do this, click on the CREATE label in the toolbar. The Create Flat Pattern tool may have been moved out of the panel somehow.
Reset your Fusion layout -- to do this, go to the File menu, select View, then select Reset to Default Layout. This will reset all of the toolbars and command dialogs to their default visibility states.

If neither of these work, we'll need to dig a little deeper. So do let us know if this resolves it.

So how would you make a drawing that has multiple bent sheet metal parts with there flat pattern? when i try to create the flat patter of the first part it works as i expected but then i cant make a flat pattern out of the remaining parts. I get a message that says "the component that is selected already containes a flat pattern"

You only have sheet "bodies". To have more than one Flat Pattern in an assembly, you must have your sheet metal bodies included in Components. You can have one Flat Pattern per sheet metal component.

Thank you for the information, i was able to remake my project and set it up correct this time and making each item its own component and i was able to create the flat pattern for each
