Automatic updates within the app have not been completing successfully for some time.

I have tried today to reinstall Fusion (for Mac - Sequoia 15.4) using a fresh copy of the installer dowloaded from the Autodesk website but this keeps failing with the error message:

'utf-8' codec can't decode byte 0xc9 in position 87

1: invalid continuation byte.

See attached log file for full details.

Would appreciate some guidance on how to overcome this issue and update the application ahead of September 2025 deadline for old version functionality.

Details of my current install are:

Fusion 2.0.18719 arm64 [Native]
Active Plan: Personal
macOS 15.4 (24E248) on Mac16,11

Thanks for you help.

Ian

Do I also need to delete the folder "A360" from the path you specified? What about the Fusion files in the "User/Applications/" folder - Autodesk Fusion, Autodesk Fusion Service Utility and Remove Autodesk Fusion? Note: I ran the uninstaller but these files are still in place!

Quickly create a new user account on the Mac - it is relatively easy to do to
2. install Fusion on that user profile

Does it install without any issues ?

I've logged back into the the user account I was having issues with and now Fusion seems to be OK - I tried the "check for updates" and it reported back that everything was up to date (although version number is still as before:

Fusion 2.0.18719 arm64 [Native]
Active Plan: Personal
macOS 15.4 (24E248) on Mac16,11

I'll check the version number of the new install in the Admin account and report back.
