Can't create new Flanges in Sheet Metal

Running in to a really odd problem here. Running Fusion 360 on MacOS. Just did a little tutorial on Sheet Metal. I know how to work it just fine, but for some reason when I attempt to create a new sheet metal component and Flange a new piece of metal, it just... won't. The 'OK' button is greyed out, I can't select it. I can create a Flange from a current piece of metal, but I can't create a new one.

This even persists if I create a new design. Blank, fresh, clean slate: create component, create sketch, Flange sketch... and OK is greyed out. Same steps, just won't work. I had to completely reboot the app to fix the issue, and even then it only allowed me to create 1 Flange from scratch and then the problem happened. Has anyone seen this before?

In sheet metal when creating the original flange, you have to select a Sheet Metal Rule, to give the new flange sheet metal properties. You should have default sheet metal rules in your template but you might want to check. Your screen capture does not show any Sheet Metal Rules as are seen in my Flange dialog box.

Yes, a sheet metal rule was already set when I created the empty component:

And oddly, if I reboot my app and repeat the exact same steps, it works! This is only an issue when I create more than 1 flange during an session of Fusion 360. It's bizarre.

Just to test, try to create a Sheet Metal body instead. In a new file, create a sketch, select Flange and select your material on the fly from the Flange dialog box, as I show in my screen capture.

Thanks for your post and sorry inconvenience you facing while using Fusion Sheetmetal flange.

I tried same workflows at my end but I don't see any issue for Flange creation its working fine.

Can you share share your Document(f3d file) where you facing issue, so can help you better way.

Aww man, now I can't recreate the issue with the same steps! Argh. I'll try to save the file as soon as I can reliably repro it once more. Must have been something I did after creation to cause it to happen...

Just to confirm I had the same issue, restarted Fusion and it now works.

Fusion randomly wont let me create a flange from sketch geometry, the Okay button is grayed out. So I save the file, reboot fusion. low and behold fusion then allows the flange creation. Not the most fluid way to design, or time efficient!

This sounds like issue with modeling technique to me.

Let me take a look and do some experimentation.

First thing I notice is that your sketch becomes "ghosted" when you create New Component".

(Preference - Active Component Visibility)

In comparison - my repeat of the same steps...

again, your screen - sketch "ghosted"

(Preference - Active Component Visibility)

and my screen...

I see after you move the sketch to the active component it appears that you still can't click OK.

I can't reproduce this issue.

Can you continue the process (in video) - close the file, and reopen and now show that it works as expected. (Or doesn't it?)

I thought maybe the issue was related to this Preference - but in my testing it works either way.

This exact same thing just happened to me too....closing Fusion and reopening fixed it.
