Hello everyone.

Fusion 360 will not start, stuck on splash screen, looks like all the program files start up, and if i do this workaround Fusion 360 start.

Walkaround i found after researching this issue for a bit is this:
If i go tho this location: C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Web Services and delete Loginstate.xml, and restart my machine, i can start Fusion 360 again, just have to login and everything is fine.
I have read that updating the GFX driver can fix issues with Fusion 360, but i don't want to do that because of some other issues with the latest AMD drivers with my GFX card regarding gaming. And as Fusion 360 start after the workaround i found, i don't think this is related to my GFX driver actually. What i do not understand is how the program works after i delete Loginstate.xml, but will not work if i do not do the workaround.

Had this issue for awhile now, and it just starting to get old to have to do all this steps before i can start fusion all the time, so i want to get this fixed. The issue started a few weeks maybe a month ago, after a fusion update i think.

Anyone ells have this issue, and maybe know what the problem can be?
Including log and systemspecs below here.

Running latest Fusion 360 version (i think) had a update on it yesterday atleast.

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (build:18363)(1909, codenamed "19H2")
AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
ASUS Strix RX580TOP 8GB
16GB Ram
NVMe SSD OS and programs installed

Please let me know if you need anything ells about my specs or anything ells.

Hi,

Sorry to hear of the trouble.

The log indicates an Error22 as well as "catastrophic communications failure" as if the network connection was abruptly disconnected for reasons unknown. Is there anything else installed that might affect network traffic e.g. firewall, Smartscreen, antivirus?

Additionally, could there be a "rights" issue at work here? Could the UAC settings be interfering? If you run Fusion "as Administrator" does it launch okay? If you create a new user account on the system does Fusion run there okay?

Lastly, when you do run Fusion can you zip up the log files and post them here? They may help find out what's up. You can generate these by going to the Help (?) menu > Support and Diagnostics > Diagnostic log files.

Hello, Thank you so much for replying.
Yeah i have some network programs running, like AsusGameFirstV that is set to Automatic. BitDefender, and BitDefender Firewall. but i always had those turned on and running, and it has never been a issue, until a month ago maybe now, when this started, i can only start fusion once after i deleted the loginstate.xml file, then i have to delete that again, and restart my machine to login to fusion again. I am starting Fusion as administrator, and have UAC tuned on, so get a messaged everytime i start fusion after all that stuff, and it starts up, so dont think this is a UAC problem or problem related to windows at all, as i can start it if i do the walk around i found 🙂 But i might be wrong too tho, just feel its very odd this suddenly starting to happen, after i used it for months the same way.

i have Fusion open now, so will try to make that log you talk about. I can see that i have a update that have failed to install on fusion, maybe that is the problem, but i have reinstalled it too, so it should be the latest version then right?

Added the logs below, hope it helps 😉

Hi,

Although the programs may have worked before, it may be something we now do, or an update to the games/apps that now conflicts.

Can you disable all the network-related apps, turn off UAC, Bitdefender, etc. and see if it changes anything?

If not, can you check your Hosts file to see if network traffic is being redirected? This is usually found in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. Look for anything that doesn't have a # at the beginning of the line. If you find anything Use NotePad to edit the file and add the pound sign # to comment it out (you can always go back and remove the pound later).

If this still doesn't help can you:

Remove the Loginstate.xml file.

Remove the files C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Neutron Platform\Options\NMachineSpecificOptions.xml and C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Neutron Platform\Options\{GUID} folder name\NGlobalOptions.xml.

Remove the file C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\{GUID} folder name\W.wwwwip1fqa\UploadQueuedFileList.xml.

Launch Fusion.

Have you read my OP? I can start Fusion if i remove the Loginstate.xml, but if i close it i can not open it again, so tell me, how can any program or AV have to do with this? when i can start it once, but not more after i deleted that file? do i need to go a screen capture of all this so you understand what i am talking about? sorry for being a bit rude, but as a MCITP, i found this very odd, that you mean that a program i have installed, is accepting Fusion to start once, and then after the loginstate.xml is created again, it will not allow it, common. Don't understand why or how you can blame another program for that, when it works if that file is not present. But okai, i will try to remove those folders too and see if that helps, an total reinstall did not help at all, so dont understand what good it should do.

I think this is related to server authentication or something like that, as i get contact one time, and allowed in, without the LoginState.xml present, but when the program generate the loginstate file, its not anymore. so there has to be something wrong with that file creation, or something relating to what happens when that is created i think, not the programs i have running in the background, when the same programs runs when it works one time, but not more. I am sorry if you feel i am a bit rude, i just tried my best to explain this in the OP and dont understand why you still think its another program causing this. Not meaning to be rude or anything, just fed up of this program not working, so sorry if i come across that way, just frustrated, sorry 😞

Okai, i get it, will it work if i boot in safemode, and trying to start fusion form there? some of my program are driver related, so they have to run for or the driver crash and i get blackscreens e,c. but if i boot in safemode, its windows drivers.

I tested the last thing you asked with deleting all the folders and stuff, still the same, can start fusion one time, and then it crash on the next startup again 😞 the update got installed this time i saw tho, so its now on the latest version of fusion too 🙂

BTW, will check the certificates and see if there is any problems there, and get back to you asap 😉

Hello again, today i just wanted to try something different as nothing ells would work, so even tho it said the program did not respond i just let it stay there looping on the splash-screen, (BTW i have windows installed on a NVMe drive, so its much faster than a SSD and sutch) after around 5-6 min the program suddenly opened , but only the frame and was all white inside, thought; wow, this is awsome, and got some hopes of this actually working again, waited another 6-7 min, and all the contents of the program showed up inside the frame, and is now working again, don't now it it just needed time, or what it could have been actually now, no errors are showing up. but its working atleast normal now, without having to delete the loginstate.xml and the folders now 😉 anyway thank you so much for your time and for helping me out, very very much appriciated 🙂

A little update, never figured out what has been the reason for this, but if i just wait for 5-10 min it will finally get started. but today, after i installed the Win 10 May update, its all fine again, and started up normal, in about 10 sec it was up and running atleast 😉 so that is progress, so guess this have had to do with something with windows, as and update fixed it.
