I never mess with materials - it's always set to steel satin for all components. It seems the opacity will work for 2-3 seconds; but as soon as I rotate the part or save it, it goes solid again and I can't get it transparent again. There was also a windows update this morning that may be causing the issue as well - I don't have time to screw with this - time is money.

Since this morning's update Opacity Control doesn't seem to be functioning for me. I have tried creating new bodies and files as well as opened some older files from last week where I know it had worked. Regardless of what it is set to the body appears completely solid.

JP

it seems to work fine for me. There are some plastic materials, though that do not work with opacity. Are you by chance using one of those?

If you share your model here, we can take a look

Same here, a file I was working with last night with opacity control set to 50% now doesn't have the ability to change the opacity of any object that previously had opacity control enabled.

Really highlights an issue with push updates, if this broke something more critical I wouldn't be able to get any work done today...

Hi,

We are aware of an issue and are working to fix it now. It might be related to what you are seeing.

There is one way to find out. Can you please change your preferences to this setting and try your workflow? Let me know what happens. Always happy to dig deeper.

maybe I am asking this in the wrong way.

I am working on an assembly that is housed in a PEEK outer/insulator with some parts inside it as well as passages running through it. I am trying to make the PEEK insulator semi-transparent by selecting the component, right clicking and selecting Opacity Control and clicking 30%

When the component is still selected, I can see a slight "ghosting" of the internals but as soon as I click off it reverts to a solid.
