It is not only for Fusion but also a strategy for FFF printing. Outer sides are shell (top, bottom, side). Shells has some thickness inside (like 2mm or 1mm). Inside are kept hollow or semi hallow (by infill).

Infill are created for many reasons:

1. Making the structure strong.

2. Reduce material required.

3. Reduce time for printing.

As FFF is a slow process, using infill is a wise choice. So, the voids you see inside are mainly infill.

(Accept the solution if it helped)

Hi, I just discovered an issue with parts that contain internal voids, when in the additive manufacturing workspace, and using an FFF machine, I get that this behaviour might be correct fo SLS and other powder tipe machines but one of the advantages of FFF is that you can have empty internal spaces in models, so the toolpath shouldn't fill them. The workaround that i found is to simply add a small hole, but that should be fixed in my opinion.

Best regards, Gregor

Sorry I just saw I missed a part of a sentence.

I wanted to say that if I model parts with internal voids fusion will fill them when generating the tool path.

I'm going to edit the post now. JK you can't update posts.

Thanks for the quick reply anyways

I intended to mean that fusion will fill up 3d models that have internal voids.

Sorry for the miswriting.

Gregor
