You are using As-Built Joints to attach each leaf of the hinge. As-Built Joints apply, in this case a Rigid Joint, between the Origins of the two components. This will not work in this case. Take a look at my video and you will see I am using Joints, not As-Build Joints and placing in relation to the door and panel side using Joint Offsets. The icons in the time line look different.

OK. So from what you are saying, my use of the Align feature to place the hinge really doesn't help. One still needs to take measurements as you showed in the earlier video you sent to find particular snap points and offsets to use the regular Joint feature. I thought the properly placed hinge and cabinet side could be treated as two components of an as-built joint to rigidly connect them. I didn't quite follow your comment about the joint being between the two origins. I must be missing a fundamental aspect of joint placement.

Thanks

Paul

I try what you suggested but instead of using a rectangle, for the Split Face command, I used a simple sketch line from top to bottom of the hinge. This gave me the middle point for the Joint Origin, on the new face, to apply the Joint. Updating of the sketch line location moved the hinge Joint without issue. This seems like a extra step since the Joint Offset value works well.
