Insert McMaster-Carr does not display everything and it can not be used...

Insert McMaster-Carr does not display everything and it can not be used 'properly' or find parts to insert step files. I tried clicking on the question mark icon in the top right -> Support and Diagnostics-> Clear Cache Data. It then closed Fusion 360 and restarted and problem persisted.

Issue was first noticed after I opened it today and was notified of recent updates.

I then used my mouse to click and drag it over the window and it selected the text and made it visible so I could navigate allowing me to finally be able to select the Screw I needed and download the STEP file.

To me it looks as if the text is being displayed as 'White', instead of the normal 'Black' causing the text to become invisible against the White background. If I had to guess, it is just a font color setting.

(Doing this a few times allows me to eventually get to the McMaster-Carr STEP file I need to insert. You also have to highlight the dropdown menu list to find the STEP file option. )

This is a vector icon I made in the same style as all of your other Insert icons. I use the Insert McMaster-Carr feature quite a bit and if you could use this icon, or one that is easy to quickly identify I would appreciate it. You may have this vector icon for 'FREE', as is, with 'No Strings Attached'. I looked for the font that most closely resembled the large 'M' on the logo. The 'Green" and 'Yellow' colors were obtained from a screenshot of McMaster-Carr's website and selected in Gimp for cose color matching. I designed the icon for a personal project that I am certain will require me to contact your Sales and Marketing once my development is closer to completion. But I do not see any reason why you and other Fusion 360 Users can benefit from its existence if you so desire to use it. You let me use Fusion 360 for free as I qualify for that licence, so as far as I am concerned you already paid me for it. I will sign a release as long as it does not prohibit me from also using it with McMaster-Carr's approval.

This is most likely a graphics issue.

Can you please check your graphics diagnostic information, under Help?

What kind of graphics card do you have? Are the drivers up to date?

Also, go to Help > About and find the build number you are using. It should be formatted like "2.0.XXXX"

Can you please check your graphics diagnostic information, under Help?

What kind of graphics card do you have? Are the drivers up to date?

Also, go to Help > About and find the build number you are using. It should be formatted like "2.0.XXXX"

I'm having the same issue but it isn't limited to the McMaster Carr content. I experience missing text in other boxes in Fusion like the 'share public link' box. I've performed a system update, updated my GPU drivers and performed a clean uninstall twice to try to sort it. Of course I restarted my PC at each step as well. Still not resolved.

This is most likely a graphics issue. Reinstallation is only helpful when Fusion will not start.

Can you please check your graphics diagnostic information, under Help?

What kind of graphics card do you have?

Has anyone tried setting their Graphic Driver to a different DirectX in the Preferences panel? It is a quick thing to check.

I've the latest amd drivers installed.

I've set directx 9 also with NO success!

The tip with the "NEUTRON_WEBBROWSER_ALLOW_GPU_BLACKLIST" system variable worked!!!

Got up this morning and applied the 'system variable' solution supplied in my thread and that seems to have sorted it out. Back to work now. Thanks for your input.

For the record, and if anyone else finds this post:

If you are seeing white text on a white background, anywhere in Fusion 360, and are on Windows, please create this environment variable. (ht to @lance.carocci )

Right-click on My Computer/This PC on the Desktop or in the Start Menu and select “Properties”
In the left column of the System window that appears, select “Advanced System Settings”
Within the System Properties window that appears, click “Environment Variables” in the bottom right
Within Environment Variables, click “New…” under the System Variables section
For Variable Name, enter NEUTRON_WEBBROWSER_ALLOW_GPU_BLACKLIST
For Variable Value, enter 1
Click OK to save the new variable
Launch Fusion 360

Had the same issue ,

Fusion on my laptop worked on my desktop would only display white on the catalog. This is a new bug as it worked a few days ago. Used your fix and now everything's fine. Thank you very much.

This just happened recently on my desktop ( May 17). Previously McMaster-Carr catalog worked fine in Fusion 360. Applied the fix and now working. Thanks for solution.

Side note: right clicking on start menu does not display the properties tab, use Control Panel then click System in Comtrol Panel.

My question is.....why is there a GPU blacklist in the first place?

You should be well aware that there are many users out there who use Radeon GPUs and it is these users who appear to be affected.

There should not have to be a workaround for these GPUs the program should work as it did before the update. Who made the decision to include a GPU blacklist and why?

It's not that kind of blacklist.

The GPU blacklist contains a list of functions to not call for compatibility purposes based on the rendering chipset. Pretty much every app with accelerated graphics has one, somewhere, either for the app itself or one of its third party dependencies (e.g. embedded browser frameworks).

Hello Phil,

I tried your fix and while it did solve the issue I was having of text not appearing in the McMaster-Carr catalogue, I'm now experiencing issues with my view controls locking at certain moments. For instance, if I'm sketching a rectangle and want to zoom out whilst dragging the sketch, it will not allow me to do so. Also, the orbit and panning controls are exhibiting similar behaviours. This issue arose immediately after making the changes you suggested. Could you shed any light on the problem? Thanks.

What you describe is related to win7-8. Is this your OS? It has nothing to do with video card.
