I just draw a simplified exemple.
There is the angle user parameter. When applying the move operation (rotation along Z axis, angle "angle", create a copy) for a rectangle drawn initially aligned with XY axis : initial parameter value is applied (was 10° here) but is not reapplied when updating the parameter in a second step (either sketch in edition or not)

https://a360.co/3dFjlkk

Hello,
i'm trying to achieve a parametric rotation of a sketch component (a given close polyline profile).
Within the sketch edition, and with a prior existing user parameter (value in deg) defining the rotation, the sketch component move operation let me choose the user parameter as the rotation value and properly apply it once, but this is not updated later on when I change the parameter value.
Did I missed something ? Is there a workaround / alternative workflow for this ?
Regards

I think there is a misunderstanding about the Move command in sketch. There is no "feature" created for the move operation. So, once you use Move to rotate the rectangle, that is just applied once, and forgotten. There is not history there. If you want to control the rotation using a parameter, you will have to create an angle dimension, and make sure that your rectangle is constrained, so that it does not change shape. I'll construct a simple example shortly

Thanks, I indeed followed a bad way in first place.
The technique you described work for a ployline, but now I'm trying to apply the same angle constraint principle when the component I want to rotate is a closed spline and I do not suceed.

e.g. I draw a construction line between 2 of the spline points, then when I apply the angle constraint between this ref line and e.g. X axis, then the spline gets distorted.

File>Export and then Attach your new *.f3d file here.

Constraining a spline will take a bit more effort to fully define so that it does not distort when rotated.
