Cursor lagging in sketch mode

In the past F360 was fast and well behaved on this PC. Now when I move the mouse pointer around in a sketch the cursor lags and takes quite a long time to catch up with the mouse. If I start drawing any object type and move the pointer halfway across the screen, the cursor can take at least a second to catch up. It's very hard to use like this.

I have tried all the settings I could find suggestions about in several forums, nothing seems to affect this.

3D sketch mode is turned off.

I have tried the graphics driver on DirectX9 and DirectX11, both behave the same.

Camera mode makes no difference.

My Windows 10 and drivers are all up to date.

There must be some config option I am missing, hopefully.

Intel Core i7-4770, GeForce GTX 660 Ti

I still haven't found a solution to this. Is there a guide somewhere for configuring F360 for better performance?

I was just having the same issue. Hiding the BROWSER section while in sketch mode solved it. I still think it's annoying having to hide it any time I have to edit things, but at least I'm able to work.

Let me know if it works for you, and if you find a better solution.

I'm having the same issue. Collapsing the browser or any of the other dialog menus that float above the graphic window does not fix it for me.

I have the same issue. Restarting the PC temporareliy fixes it for me, but only for a few minutes

A lot of "sketch lagging" is due to how you have created your sketch. Sketches that are dense, use sketch patterns and use a lot of complicated geometry using splines, etc. can be the issue. Attach you model and the forum users can take a look to see if some suggestions to improve performance can be made. If you do not know how to attach your model, open it in Fusion360, select the File menu and then choose Export and save the .F3D file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section of a reply forum post to attach it.

This is not related to the complexity of the sketch, it can happen on a
new project when all I have is a circle in a new sketch.

I just started having this issue. Never had it before but popped up a few weeks ago. I'll tell you one thing, it's not my computer. I have an 3900x, RTX 2080, 32GB of DDR4 at 3800mhz. I can have this issue with VERY simple geometry going on, like literally trying to sketch a rectangle inside a rectangle and that's all I have going for the entire project. Something is messed up.

I am using a lot less of a computer than you described you are and I do not see any issue. Think back to when it started happening, did you install some other application, did you change some drivers. Are you using the latest version of Fusion 360 (2.0.9642). There has got to be something you have changed to cause this.

Also having the exact problem with new sketches. Hadn't used Fusion for a while, but on both of my computers (8 year old laptop, and new desktop) I'm having the same issues. I think if something changed its probably on the Fusion side.

I figured it out. Lower your polling rate in your mouse software.

That did it. My mouse has a performance mode and an endurance mode (Logitech G602). Switching to endurance solved it. Weird.

I believe this random sketch lagging is causes by Fusion processing updates in the background without being transparent about what it's doing.

I found the issue (at least for me). i was using a high poling rate mouse (1000hz or higher) that will send a lot of inputs to programs, some games also suffer from the same issue.

on the mouse i was using i was able to lower the polling rate to 500Hz and it became smooth as butter.

(fyi im using a Logitech mouse, and with a profile for fusion i can set the polling rate)
