topic Sketch Constraints in Fusion Support Forum

Hi Yah Support,

Is there any way that I can free sketch in Fusion 360, I get so frustrated with constraints being automatically placed everywhere and anywhere. All I want to do is sketch up the concept or the part etc and then from there decide to apply constraints.

I find that when I do things like offsets etc I can't because a line had already been offset, trying to move things around and can't because there is a constraint or two...I spend more time removing restraints than actually creating them. Even when I use the filter to show only constraints and then delete them as soon as I start working on the sketch again constraints start again

Surely it can't just be me that has come across this 🙂 A simple "sketch constraints off or on" would be great

I did see a post somewhere about holding down the CTRL key but when I try that I end up drawing a curve/arc

Thanks in advance

Hold down Cntrl key is the only way.

Holding down the left mouse button for Tangent Arc is also what you are seeing.

Might help....

Thanks, Gunter yes I found the no snaps...why can't the sketching just be as simple as using Autocad?

Sitting most of the day holding the control key and not having snaps is not very productive. In honesty, I'd be quicker going into Autocad and copying the sketch/dwg file into Fusion at times.

I've come from Onshape to Fusion and the Onshape sketching is far more flexible and a lot better I think, there are only two things that Fusion 360 lets me down in, the sketching and the 2D Drawing/draughting
