Hi

I am trying to create a flat pattern of an ellipse but there seems to be some sort of error causing the flat pattern to warp.

I can design the ellipse with a 359 radius and then extrude it using the flange tool (as I have done with all the cylinders that I have created) but I keep getting errors with this.

One attempt adds 'films' to the sides, and produces a 3D flat cutout. Another version doesn't have the 'films' but doesn't flat pack either.

What am I doing wrong?

I cannot not be 100% sure but I think your method of moving the model back and forth, to position the workplanes, for body splitting screws the model up. I created a model similar to yours and instead of moving the model, I created the angle workplanes and then offset them to the desire location before splitting the body. It works just fine. My model is attached if you want to look at it.

I will redo all the components this way to ensure no distortion.
