"Measure" tool does not show more than 3 decimal places

I am having an issue with the measure tool. I cannot get it to show more than 3 decimal places for the primary measurement unit. The secondary measurement unit shows as many decimal places as I want, but the primary unit does not. See screen grab below:

This issue has been reported to Autodesk and acknowledged. Take a look at this post. In the meantime, go to your Preferences and set your precision to whatever level you want and it will translate to the measure precision for you.

Right in the UI in your screenshot is a Precision field, which can be changed 😉

That's the point of his question. Setting the Precision is NOT working. This is a bug and is now known by Autodesk.

In the 6 years I've used Fusion 360, in the thousands of hours I spent with Fusion 360 either on my own private projects, in my professional projects or in the many, many user threads I have helped users I have NEVER had any problems setting the measure tool to the precision I wanted. EVER!

@amasters I looked at this again, and you are correct!

I am surprised how this can have slipped through quality control It is very obvious!.

This must be a very new bug as this has worked flawlessly before.

@TrippyLighting Yes, it is a new bug. I believe it arrived with the latest update. I use the measure dialog extensively and am always changing the precision to suit my needs. All of a sudden last Sunday, it no longer worked.

Still not working. For me, this is a critical f'up on their end.

I need to inspect the molds I am working on to confirm various dimension and in my case .0003 makes a big difference. I cannot figure out how to measure what actual dimensions are now.

How does Autodesk always break features on every update?

** One work around is to use mm and then convert. The mm seem to show more units.

Until a patch comes through, you can set the precision using your Preferences. Set the Units to the precision you need and the measure tool will measure to that precision.

Hi again. This week Fusion 360 had a major update to build 2.0.8749. This issue should be fixed in this latest update. Please update Fusion and let me know if you still find the same problem.

Verifying build number:

Help > About
Look for a number like "2.0.8XXX" in the about box.
Current build is 2.0.8749

Updating Fusion 360:

Start or restart Fusion
Look at the Job status icon (the small clock in the top bar)
If an update is downloading a small 1 appears on the clock.
Click to see progress and restart message when it's done.
